Pair of planters featuring stylized pheasants.
Black lacquered wood, gilded wood, mahogany veneer and painted fruitwood veneer.
Interior in original sheet metal.
Around 1825. 

Height 45 cm Length 47 cm

These planters are a production of the Biedermeier period which, especially in painting, preferred the representation of farm and country animals. The combination of painted and lacquered wood of different species is also typical of the period and lends itself well to the plumage of the pheasant represented.
