Bamboo furniture is one of the specialties of the great Parisian house Jansen. Founded in 1880 by the Dutchman Jean-Henri Jansen, Jansen is considered the first design firm to have made its name a brand. The importance of the house of Jansen in the decorative arts became central at the end of the 19th century with its creations of electric styles. By specializing in historical styles, the house acquired an international reputation and set up two boutiques located on Rue Royale, one specialized in the creation of furniture focusing on historical veracity while the other presented new and very contemporary furniture, the fruit of the modernist vision of the great Parisian house. The bamboo furniture is the result of the combination of these two visions.
