Pair of mahogany screens in two parts. The severity of their style and their spear motif are reminiscent of the warlike taste of the Revolutionary and Directoire periods.
A very similar pair of mahogany screens, three parted but not as high and with less detailed ornaments, were sold at Christie's in 2020 (The Collector : Le Goût français) for 9,375 €.
