Attitudes. Giustiniani Faience

Galerie Lamy Chabolle, in collaboration with Camille Leprince, Justin Raccanello and Galerie Aveline, is pleased to present Attitudes. Faïences de Giustiniani, an ambitious exploration of Neapolitan ceramic heritage at the turn of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Hosted within the spaces of Galerie Aveline, the exhibition brings into dialogue an exceptional group of faience and art terracotta from the Giustiniani manufactory with a selection of works of art, bronzes and period furniture, celebrating the rediscovery of classical Antiquity.

Inspired by the fascination with the discoveries at Herculaneum and Pompeii, as well as by the theatricality of antique poses — evoking Emma Hamilton’s celebrated “attitudes,” Galerie Lamy Chabolle brings together, alongside the ceramics assembled by Messrs. Leprince and Raccanello, a selection of Grand Tour watercolours, prints and Anticomania bronzes, “Etruscan-style” vases from the Creil manufactory, and exhibition furniture inspired by Neoclassical architecture.
